Tack- equipment used for riding horses.
Walk- A four beat gait, the slowest of the gaits
Trot-a diagonal two beat gait.
Canter- consists of three beats followed by a moment of suspension, and has “leads” (in which legs on one side of the horse, front and back, reach farther forward than the legs on the other side).
Aids- the use of hands, legs, seat, weight, and voice to influence a horse; these are natural aids. Artificial aids;whip, spurs may be used to reinforce the natural aids.
Conformation- The physical structure and build of a horse.
Farrier- Somebody who studies horses hooves and trims and maintains them.
Frog- a shock absorbing 'triangle' on the underside of the hoof.
